A Pumpkin, a Gruffalo and a Witch
This week was my online spooky ballet bash and all attendees had a great time. The class started off with a monster warm up followed by an imaginary walk down the street on Halloween night to find skeletons, vampires, witches and even a werewolf!
The children did allegro in the form of bounces in parallel position and star jumps before pretending to be the gruffalo and the little brown mouse, by performing great big steps versus tiny little ones. Later we played the emoji game where everyone had to use their own creativity to show a movement that represented each emoji I showed them…there were some very interesting pumpkins!
To finish the class we flew to Neverland, had a sword fight on Captain Hook’s pirate ship and visited the tick tock croc (this is what one of my younger students once called the crocodile from Peter Pan and I have called it that ever since!).
I am very excited for my two upcoming online Christmas parties- one for children and one for adults too. I can’t stress enough that these parties are for EVERYONE- whether you fancy a go at ballet for the first time or you have been dancing a while everyone is welcome to have some festive fun from home.
