Technique, Improving and Certification

Progressing Ballet Technique is an exercise programme designed to help advance ballet technique. Core stability, muscle control, balance and turn out are essential components of ballet and dancers are constantly striving to improve these things so that they can achieve better arabesques, pirouettes and pretty much all performance steps! Finding in-class time to develop these skills is sometimes difficult so supplementary training is almost always needed. Progressing Ballet Technique can be used as a supplementary training programme for all ballet dancers no matter their age or ability.

Today I did the certification teachers workshop, and it was amazing. I really recommend it to fellow teachers and if there are any students considering PBT classes go for it! We were taken through a series of exercises designed by Marie Walton-Mahon using balls and therabands. Normally these exercises should be built up a little at a time but during the training we were taken through all levels. I can honestly say that my core feels like it has had the best workout ever and I am certainly ready for a good film, some food and a snooze!
